Artist-in-residence: Textilmuseum Borås, Sweden

I worked with the reconnection to the sensual contact with the elements and to the living textile material that covers our earth. I worked with plants, the colour of plants, plant medicine, and natural materials – fibres together with history and myths connected to the place and time. Colour from plants are deeply intertwined with human life and culture, the colours vibrate with our perception and senses and our health. I continued working with woad and Indigo, connecting with the history and its place Borås. To the right in the picture Fibers from Madagascar and NZ with dyed with fermentation process of woad and Indigo.

I used the textile museum’s archives and the surrounding area and the Viskan River, on of  the most polluted rivers in Sweden, due to the textile industry. (In 2012 and 2013 I had a project with Navet Science Center and the Textile Museum where I researched the Viskan River, and visualised its water differences in colour).

Jag arbetade med att återknyta den sinnliga kontakten med elementen och till det levande textila material som täcker vår jord. Jag arbetade med växter, växternas färg, växtmedicin och naturmaterial -fibrer tillsammans med historia och myter kopplat till platsen och tiden. Färg från växter är djupt sammanvävda med människans liv och kultur, färgerna vibrerar med vår perception och sinnen och vår hälsa.
